Today's rabbit hole...

Does anyone know of a good speedo shop that can swap the face of a speedo from KPH to MPH? I have an S1 spider with brand new metric/Italian gauges and need MPH for the speedo.

Thanks,

Scott

Will be interesting to see whether someone has a recommendation for a shop.

Meanwhile, here's an easy calculation to convert KPH to MPH: add 1/2 of KPH and 1/10th of KPH. E.g., 100 KPH is (50 + 10) = 60 MPH.

Cheers

All,

Good info. I will see if I can get a quote from North Hollywood and/or Palo Alto as well as any other capable speedo rebuilders I can find.

Thanks,

Scott

I have a Euro S1 with a MPH speedo I’d like to swap for a KPH speedo. I wish I could find a Euro speedo for my Duetto...
keep a lookout in europe
remember in Germany a speedo is called a Tacho (!)
here for instance is a NOS one for a lot of money....a Ve-r-glia ;)

(Edit: as pointed out by Brian, this is in fact not for the Duetto!)

Dom, the second one you linked to is for a GT, not a roundtail
Ah,OK
yes I can see the difference now, the most obvious being that the GT one has both a 'Generat' and 'Riscald' warning light, whereas the Duetto one has just the 'Riscald'
Thanks for clarification, Brian....I have edited/corrected my post #7)

Yeah, I’ve seen the GT ones listed as for the Spider. Similar but not the same. Seems like the Europeans have MPH ones for sale pretty often. Mine is MPH because it was changed from the KPH model upon importation to the US, way back when. I just like the idea of having the KPH one in the car for whatever reason. If anyone happens to have one, please do let me know. Thank you.

I know how you feel. I live in Canada where speed is posted in kph my speedo reads both miles in large white numbers and kph in itty bitty unreadable little red numbers which are all but invisible at night, plus I have the dreaded 80 mile per hour speedo with the ugly yellow range between 55 and 80 so I get where you're coming from and wish I had a kph unit as well.
