This grill was removed from a '69 Berlina, however I was told that it is actually correct for a '69-71 GTV. Very good condition with very minor pitting and all slats are in great condition $100 plus shipping from 97013

I know they are different. If someone can tell which this is I would appreciate it. I don't currently have either an early Berlina or a GTV so that I can verify which it is. I'm pretty sure it came off of my '69 Berlina, but have been told by a couple people that it is from a GTV. Which one has the larger cut out out? I know they are the same casting, just trimmed differently. Can anyone help me identify this?
Thanks, Stu
I just looked at some close up pictures of my '69 Berlina and I'm pretty sure this is a GTV grill. The Berlina grill fits totally within the grill opening, while the GTV one lips slightly over, requiring the notch on the back side. Attached is picture of my '69 Berlina. As you can see, no reason for the notch on the lower portion.
From another post on the forum about back dating the 72-74 grillto the earlier and better style:
“you need the newer style centre heart where the spring clip at the bottom is wide with a space in the middle. The single thin clip will not work as is and will require metalwork skills, not that complex but much easier to get the later one.”
This seems to match the part being sold. But the quote implies early GT’s did have the single (non-forked) spring clip at the bottom.
In conclusion
The grill arrived and was in much nicer condition than described or expected.
Seller obviously has higher standards for part quality and seller integrity than average. Give me something to aspire towards.
Thank you very much.
John
