VintageRob:

I posted the same query a week or to ago, expecting people to reply that BillyBob's Italian Motor Supply carries them for $12.95 a set.

Instead I got one reply that essentially said: "good luck!"

So, I guess these things are pretty scarce! Still, I have to believe that an Alfa logo for a Turbina wheel (which the US parts suppliers DO sell) glued to an aftermarket wheel center cap, would make an acceptable substitute. Unfortunately, no one seems to have fooled around with this. I guess it's up to you and I.

Alfajay,

Did you get any leads at all? Heck, I be happy to find one and pull a mold. The results would be made from resin, but would have the look of the original and attached to a "mounting disk", should function fine......

The search continues....

Pat, those are beautiful...I have a set of Momo Vega's and would like to add something like those since I have no clue what was original with the Momo's? Do you have sets (one that I could acquire?) and will they work on these wheels? Let me know and you might have a set spoken for.

thanks, Mike S.

I took the ones off my wheels on the Jr Zagato and went to a shop that makes castings and these are the results. I have sold a few sets on Ebay and to others. Not sure just how many I have left, will have to dig out the box and take a look. They have the threaded hole on the back for the locating screw and the pin to keep them from rotating. I do not have the plate that goes on the back. I made mine out of brass stock..

Wow Pat

Those are really handsome. I think they would look very cool on my Junior Z as well.
Digressing a bit, but I wonder if there would be a way that the backing plate could be made so that the logo would always remain in an upright positions (cross on the left, snake on the right).;)

Cromodora Center Caps

With the making of the mold, supplying the pewter and the actual casting, it worked out to a price of $25.00 each badge. Then I had to get the screws for the back and make a backing piece. I have had them on my Milano for two or more years and other than needing a brush up on polish, they have stood up very well.

Cromodora Center Caps

Well, I was finally able to fine one! The owner let me borrow it and I pulled a mold of it (original casting flaws included….)

I'm going to make a few more sets to sell if anyone is interested. These are cast in epoxy resin and measure 55mm in diameter.

I mounted them with double sided trim tape and that seemed to work well….

Is anyone still selling their 55mm cromodora or alfa logo center cap replicas? Do they have to be mounted via adhesive? I noticed many are selling the adhesive ones and that just doesn't sound secure enough. If anyone is selling "tabbed" one I can pop into my spider's cromodoras or have one that uses mounting screws as described earlier in this thread, that would be great!

I am looking for the metal center caps.

Cheers!

Cromodora Center Caps

Regarding the centre caps, I have two friends who are looking for these caps, both have the original wheels from seventees, so not the reproduction version on their 105 Alfa's. Either the version with Cromodora or the Alfa logo.
If anyone can offer 8 pc or reproductions please sent me a personal message.

I have a set of these in 55mm that I don't need. New repros in chromed metal. They have threaded hole in the back for the original mounting bracket.
I don't have any spare brackets, but these could easily be made up from a metal strap.
$100 for a set of 4.
Randy
