Hello guys,
I need help, with tachometar wire that goes to ignition coli, for my TS.
When connected car won't turn off. Insulation is verry bad and it is probably conected to something that gives constant power to it.
When disconected i don't have tachometar working, can't see rpms, so I would like to replace whole wire.
With osciloscpoe I got the impuls on white wire on D conector on istrument panel, so I belive that is the wire to start with.
Can anyone tell me if that wire goes from D conector to the ECU, and from the ECU another wire to the ignition coli, or white wire is directly conected to the ignition coli.
I have been looking it in diagrams but just couldn't find one that goes from ignition coli to somewhere.

I don't have a wiring diagram for Series One TS with coils and two distributors. However, on series one 164 12v V6 the second larger 2.5mm white wire goes from A8 coil terminal 1 to pin 1 in S11 ECU and the second smaller 1mm brown-white wire leaves terminal 1 A8 and becomes white again at G154 connector and ends at C10 instrument cluster connector D pin 5

In my case only one wire goes from coli, poobably sharing end for both, one from ecu and one from G154. I'll have to look it better. Thanks for help.

Hello Steve,
Just want to thank You one more time. I did it, rev counter works. It is same as it is on 12v V6. White wire goes from instrument panel to G154, and from G154 brown-white wire to negative pole of the coli.

Hi Steve,

I have been looking on all the oem numbers for abs sensors. But they allways say "out of stock". Do you know where i can find left front and left rear abs sensors for my 164 2.5 td 1994. I also have the fault code "37". Do you know where to look for the brakeposition switch wiring fault? Regards /Jörgen

No, I do not know where to find ABS cables.
Code 37 is for brake light switch on brake pedal. Do your brake lights work? There is a potted shunt in the wiring at the switch that is known to go bad on face lift models.
