I haven't been able to spend much time on this project over the last few months, but recently I've been able to put some effort into it again and make some progress.

The latest new feature I've added is wideband O2 sensor support.
This doesn't mean that the ECU isn't self-tuning (yet)... but with the wideband included in the data stream, you can log history tables showing the actual AFR at a given RPM/load point which greatly simplifies fuel tuning.

I'll post the new files in a few days once I finish testing.

3.0 24V

Did you ever managed to take a look at the M3.7.1 found in the GTV 3.0 24V (916) ?

Its Bosch 0 261 204 558 and looks like it has a different CPU,
looks like the 80196 or something like that found in the M2.10.3, M2.10.4

I would find it very interesting to have an XDF for that ECU,
as i am currently running it in my 97 GTV with a Rotrex Supercharger.

As i did not have time and wanted the Car to be finished for last season i went with a megasquirt in Fuel only configuration. Made 325 HP on the Dyno :)

However it would be really cool to be a.) able to dump the megasquirt or b.) tune the igniton/maf scaling and so on a bit more.

I suspect it sees a too high load as the MAF is before the Rotrex and therefore pulls a lot of timing. IAT is after the supercharger.

I have done quite a lot of Motronic Stuff years ago, but i was never a good mapfinder at all.
However i manged to do some pretty cool stuff like a loader for ME7.3.1 which lets you dump the SPI eeprom in the hybrid ECUs. :whistling:

Hi guys i' m new on this forum, i 'm Raffaele from Italy and i have a 75 TS with megasquirt 3 ecu
I' m gonna putting 11,5 compression pistons so i think i have to retard the ignition table.
Is there a wot ignition table?
Here' s my actual table map vs rpm with oem pistons
What do you think ?

Was looking for some ECU bin's of motronic m1.7 and found this list of Alfa original ecu bins, maybe smeone finds it useful: Index of /original_ecu_files/files/Alfa
Don't know if they are 100% legit, but the ones I checked seem to be correct.

Hi Engine - hope you are still monitoring this thread. I have a question about O2 sensor - I read somewhere (probably here on BB) that early EFI cars without a catalytic converter ran a constant lean AFR when at low power, without the cycling about 14.7 seen in the graph above? This gave better fuel economy than later cars with a cat due to their need for rich then lean mixtures as you explain, even when at low power. Now, if I change the 75TS S30/fuel quality pliug settings to a non-cat setting, does the Motronic still run in closed loop (lean? stoich? or rich?), but without the cycling, or does it run in open loop at all power settings? Maybe a UK owner can answer, as their 75TSs did not have a cat I believe?

WOT Ignition Comparison

Anyone who is still working on this, I find the following a bit odd in the data.

The 160s bin, compared with the 191 bin, looks as follows in the ignition graph.

160s looks good to me (but this is the modified version from Festy) However, when you compare 160 to 191 the stock ignition timing for WOT, is significantly retarding timing a LOT, so why is this the case in the 'stock' map? I would expect maybe 4 or 5 degree's of advance removed in the stock map, not 20 degree's or more!?

That's pretty typical. From cruise at part throttle to full throttle almost all engines pull out timing. A lot of cars pull out 20 degrees, some pull out 40!

sad that i found this thread 8 years later after it appears to have gone quiet. If Festy is still around, i'd love to hear about how this all ended up. In particular the datalogging workstream as i'd be very keen to port that to M1.3 and M3.3
