Reliability Question

I have the wife considering buying a used Stelvio with around 20,000-30,000 miles as lease returns. I have been seeing they are 2020 & 2021 models. The closest dealer is 120 miles away. The wife worries that we have to have it towed if something happens. The question is, are they reliable, and what should we watch for?

There is a Stelvio specific forum where I am sure you will be able to get a lot more info. I put 175K on my 2017 Giulia though, and have 20K on my 2023 Giulia now with no major issues.

Thank you for the reply to my question. Good to know you are doing well with your cars. Our Acura RL has 253,000 miles and is reliable. Recently however i have been having battery drain issues if I let it sit for several days. There is also a $2000 oil leak that has to be done. So, the question comes down to, do we get a newer car or fix this one? The trade-in on the Acura is nothing. I looked at Acura, and even a used one is more than a Stelvio/Giulia. This is why I asked about reliability because if it needs something the closest dealer is in Mesa, AZ about 120 miles away. I will check out the forum. Christopher

Having owned a Stelvio since 2018 I am satisfied if not remarkably Surprised.
It is primarily my wife’s car with 35k miles. A couple factory recalls easily taken care of, that’s it.
A few bothersome issues with the infotainment and gps . Later years I believe solved those issues. Your wife is correct if something goes wrong you will likely need a tow but the same is true of most new cars. Our dealership moved further away so that is an issue as loaners are not readily available. The same with valet service.
Most reviews give it a favorable report.
DIY service is nearly non existent
Resale value is comparable to other cars, but not buyers.
Sorry I can’t be of more help.

To continue this conversation... What kind of issues can I expect with a Stelvio that has over 100,000 miles on the odometer? I am considering a 2019 or later model year.
The other question is if I was to get a low mileage lease return, what does a 60K mile serice cost and what is done?

I did regular maintenance through my dealer and got 175K on my Giulia before being faced with a $6K oil pump repair. So that's when I traded it in and purchased my 2023 dealer demo model. I had similar reliability when my car went over 100K miles as I had prior to that. I did end up replacing the starter relays, stopped using the sunroof for fear of breaking it, and somehow did crack one wheel. Other than that I only had to replace routine items that wore out such as tires, brakes, oil, etc.
