Ultraclose Ratio Transmission

Ultra Close Ratio transmission

I built this trans 4 years ago and it has been in the trailer un-used. I decided to take it apart to be able to show all the internals and clean the case. Ratios are: 1.99 / 1.59 / 1.25 / 1.0 / .85 Syncros are all the early 101 steel grooved version . This trans has has never been used, was broken in on my lathe originally and boxed. I`ve took the pics below of all the internals and cases.

Price is $4,500.oo which doesn`t cover shipping. The Bell housing in the pics can be shipped with it, or not I don`t need it. With the Bell housing attached the shipping will be more expensive.

I can put it in one of my lathes and take a video of it running and being shifted.

I love seeing custom pieces of kit like this. I’m a little tapped out right now with my engine and diff builds.

out of curiosity, what final drive did you have in mind for use with this? Your first gear is essentially equivalent to my stock 2nd gear ratio on my 1966 Giulia 1300ti

Most of the close ratio trans I`ve built go into race cars which commonly use 4.56 LSD final drives. The 1st gear is still a usable street gear and still needed frequently on the track.
This was the last one I built. It has become impossible to find early 50`s & early 60`s 4 speed or 5 speed transmissions for parts to build the close ratio transmissions.

This trans is still for sale It is complete now with bell housing and new clutch slave cylinder and clutch release bearing with factory retaining spring to keep centered.

How I build them isn`t for sale.

It is for sale that as completed now with the bell housing and and in the price today with the added components is $5.000.00 plus shipping.t
