True that they may cost a lot. True that perhaps you could invest YOUR OWN money in charitable actions. True that it can be a shame to completely distort beautiful cars.
But it is also true that A PRIVATE INDIVIDUAL can squander HIS OWN MONEY on what he likes most, without killing anyone and above all without squandering PUBLIC MONEY to finance wars aimed at the good of a few and the massacre of many. I would define this last point as shameful.
But everyone has their own opinion, more or less shareable.
My 2 cents.

For a "restomod" toy these cars are purely for the multimilionaire collector and not really a modern evolution of the original road cars on which they are based. These restomods were developed in England, so are alien in philosophy compared to the the period road cars which they came from, which were developed in factory in period by factory engineers according to their unique marque philosophy and heritage in Germany and ITaly respectively for good or bad.
Regarding best car driven actually speed and ultimate handling prowess have little impact overall for me in judging. It is much more related to how a car responds to my commands unfettored by any electronic nanny controls in modern cars, the smell of the interior, the sound of the engine and exhaust, the visibility out of the windows, the overall balance of the car over every road camber and driving conditiion, torque in reserve whenever it is needed for overtaking, the feeling the car is on your side. For all these things my fathers bought new relatively stock Euro spec caburettored Alfetta 1,8 sedan of 1976 fulfils all these criteria and was the last fully engineered from ground upwards Alfa Romeo design that Satta and Busso worked on.
