so the car

So it starts without the top 2 relays. It seems 3rd relay from top affects the cranking - so I took 2 relays from the boot and replaced relays 2 and 3. Also I inspected all relays under a microscope. All look like new - only 2 shows a very slight bulge on one contact but works fine. All relays tested on a bench coil is abut 90ohms, contacts connect at less than 1Ohm.

p.s. do you think where I put the stand is kosher ? Havent figured out how to jack the car up yet

On my 2018 ti Q4 petrol 2.0 it was the top relay panel with 2 relays. I changed it by squeezing my arm down behind the headlight from above in the engine compartment.

yes I believe you - but this is not the case on my 2017 Veloce, where the last relay is the horn, 3rd relay is the starter crank on and the rest no idea? You can also see that I have only 3 fuses, not 6 as shown on the diagram here. the info in that thread is only valid in some cases. yes you can squeeze your hand (helps if you are a gyno) and grab the top relay pair - but that is not always the starter relay it seems. Anyone in the know pls comment ?

Hopefully I'm not too late, but I had your exact same issue. All diagrams on all forums online point to the starter relay being the first one (R2A) (closest to the engine) on the first set of relays (the 2 you have removed) - I did some testing around and it was actually the 1st one in the second bank/set of relays (3rd one down if in your pic) - take it off and see if your car starts, if it doesn't that's the one. I removed R2A and the car started with no problems, wouldn't start with R2B off, and would crank but not start with R2C. I would replace R2B and R2C.

Not sure if it's because it's RHD

so yes I have now got 6 new relays and I wonder how to proceed. I am tempted to try and switch the cables such as the crucial relay is first and reachable from top? Also I am tempted to install a switch there such that thieves won't start the car. Any thoughts?
