S4 sticky gas pedal when warm, ideas?

Hello there,
my 91 S4 has developed a very irritating problem that as the car warms up the gas pedal hangs up at resting point, makes it VERY hard to drive my car in Chicago, where I live. It will hang up then jump free causing it to really bang the driveline, impossible to bring on throttle smoothly... I've lublicated all areas visible from the top with synthetic axle grease (always have best luck with it on pivot points) but it hasn't helped. Any idea what is causing this and what a cure might be?
Regards,
Kevin

I feel silly now, didn't see the sprung part of the linkage below intake manifold rearward of where that last rod is up to actual throttle, spring was rather rusty, that must have been the culprit. A good soaking seems to have sorted it now! hurray!

My suggestion was going to be the bellcrank (which you already found). Our 89 did the same thing which required removal and disassembly of the bellcrank. Cleaning and lubing the shaft and bushings solved the problem. Also replaced all the throttle rod ends.
