Dear all
For my Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 1974, I bought from Centerline (USA) the front & rear performance springs 115 1969-94 and from Classic Alfa (UK) the rear suspension rebound strap set – original style 1967-onwards.
As you could see, I’m intended to change the original American version springs, for a lower and more performance oriented spring set. Shock absorbers are standard gas Boge.
The problem is that the new rear springs are shorter than the original ones and when they are completely extended (could be the case of cornering and when one of the rear wheels loose contact with the ground) the rebound straps are longer than the springs. Consequence, the rear springs could move out of their position in the rear trailing arm.
Do have any advice of what could I do?
There is something I miss when I bought the springs? I saw there are spacers, but my idea was to lower a little the car.
Thanks in advance and kind regards from Uruguay / South America
Gonzalo
