LS Crossover Question

Does the 164 LS have a crossover to regulate the current flows between the tweeter and the woofer? Or are they both just fed off the same circuit?

From the manual and electrical diagram, it appears that the same line just splits and goes to both drivers.

I am upgrading to MB Quarts with a crossover, so I'd like to get any other crossover out of the circuit.

no existing crossovers on my 95 LS

Thanks, Jess. I will hook the big wires to my new crossovers and see how it works.

No crossover on the 164 just a small cap/choke on the tweeters.

Thanks, Len. Much appreciated. I didn't want to have to trace the wire all the way to the relay plate to find out.

It is located right on the tweeter if I am not mistaken its the same type found on the rear 6X9 but that one is for sure is built on the tweeter itself.

Thanks again Len. Since the old tweeters are coming out and being replaced by new M B Quart units, I should be good to hook the woofer wires to my new crossover and the. Hook that to the Quart tweeter and woofer per Quart's specifications.
