You can restore old ones. The key steps are to re-silver the original mirror because A) It is thinner glass than what is on the market and B) the original is beveled to receive the "clawed" plastic pieces that are attached to it with the hoop spring to operate the hi/lo toggle. Years ago , when there were no repops, I restored them but the demand dried up .. now I spend my creative juices on Oil Vapor Separators. Frank Wright Glass in Detroit will re-silver yours for about $35 but then you have to come up with the plastic pieces as the "claws" are very prone to disintegrating with age.

I've restored quite a few of these for '64 & '65 Spiders. Not difficult but requires patience. I've a restoration candidate awaiting time to "make-it-new-again" in my shop as I write this. The thinner glass "uncle" refers too above, is metric gauge. I found cheap hand mirrors use the same thickness and you can source the mirror glass, then <c a r e f u l l y> recut using the original or a cardboard pattern.
Uncle is correct, in that one needs a reason and patience to restore one!
