blinker won't blink

One of my front turn signals won't blink. It lights up but will not blink when I use the turn signal. The bulb looks good as do the fuses. What else should I be looking for?

Thanks.

Humor me - replace the fuse. Even if it looks good. Somehow the bullet fuses in our cars can look OK but fail to pass electrons.

I wen through this last year. I tried new bulbs, a new flasher and cursing but the right turn blinker would not work reliably. It'd come 'on' but not flash. Finally I replaced the fuse and it has worked since.

bad blinker

I replaced the fuse (#8 for direction indicators) twice to be sure, and that did not fix the problem. So, I will order a new relay and see if that helps. But since the fuse and the relay each control all four indicators, I think I may have a bad wire somewhere. I am no electrical guru, so I hope the new relay helps!

I don't have the diagram but I believe it's number 8 on the fuse block.
The turn signals are sensitive to resistance, like if one bulb is out they flash fast or just once. So It could be a bad contact in the column switch, do your hazards work normally?

One of the more complex wiring aspects of the GTV6 is the flasher circuit. The flasher can power the lights even when the L/R column swith does not...and vice versa.

This is because the flasher circuit uses a common split circuit.

Out of the Flasher relay, the wiring splits going to the column switch AND the hazard switch.

From the Hazard switch the wiring continues to a common connector for the column switch L/R turn signal wires.

Either the hazard switch or the column switch can power the signal lights, and you can use a turn signal and the hazards at the same time because the original power source (the flasher relay) will supply the same single power source.

So what does this mean: you can have a bad hazard switch and good turn signals, and vv, you can have bad turn signal switch and the hazards work! So you may have a bad column switch or column connection.

Each side has its own color marking on the wires, and maybe striped for front vs rear...don't remember.
