My heater blower motor does not come on, although the light on the dashboard does come on. The secondary blower for the air conditioning does come on. I have been told this is a very expensive repair/replace job since the blower motor is located deep inside the dashboard. Any recommendations on who might be able to do it at a reasonable price ?
I am in Southern New Jersey near Philadelphia

Thanks,
Denis

The blower motor sits at the very bottom of the heater unit. (The A/C system is separate from the heater.) To access the heater the shop manual instructions start with 'Remove Dash'. It actually isn't as daunting as it sounds but the knee bolsters and the A/C parts do complicate the task.

Before going any further, I suggest you use a pencil or similar to reach in via the bottom opening (where heat would come out to the footwell on the right side) and try to encourage the fan to spin. Sometimes, after a long period of disuse the fan motor just gets a little corrosion and becomes stuck. If you can get it to move with the pencil, try some spray lubricant with the plastic straw and hope that some will find the bearings. Then try the switch. If it comes back to life do two things: 1) go buy a lottery ticket before your luck changes and B) run the fan motor regularly to prevent it from getting stuck again.

if the fan moves with a pencil (you can even get your fingers in there to move it if you open the flap just right) - iow it is not frozen....
then try direct battery power to one of the spade connections (either yellow or the yellow/black, doesn't matter as one is fast one is slow speed) on the heater itself (driver's side) and see if it spins like that.
