Hi, South Africa.
Thank you very much for your post on the history of 1532346.
I have the full history of its presence in Angola, who drove it, how it went to Portugal, etc, which was published in a Portuguese magazine.
One day, I will translate it. The only problem is that it's 12 pages long. The article mentions Andre Verwey, who lived in Luanda at the time.
The doubt has always been 1532345, which has never been to Angola, as wrongly claimed.

Have a good evening.
Toy

Dear contributors,

I will link this and other specific information on #1532346 and others we talked about, in due course, to the chassis number list in post #500 on page 25 of this thread.

Thank you for the explanations, the pictures of the car and magazine article here so far.
That is an example of what keeps this thread alive and relevant.

#1532345 is a bit of a mystery to me.

Ciao, Olaf 👌🍀

Hi, South African.
Both pictures were taken in 1981 in Portugal. The paint job on #80 looks a bit ridiculous.

And for those still looking for the second Angola GTAm AR153245 you may need to broaden your search horizons.

I am sure this has been posted before but as sometimes things get lost in the clutter
Hello Don,

Thank you for that piece of the puzzle on 1750 GTAm with chassis number #1532345! That letter is proof beyond reasonble doubt.

As said, I will link to these documents with info in due course to post #500 on page 25 of this thread.

Cheers, Olaf 👌🍀

Interesting wording about being completely knocked down for tuning by Autodelta. I've never come across this previously. Generally the car is just 'sold or supplied to' or 'first owner' Autodelta. Has anyone ever seen this mentioned before on other cars?

My 1532307, so very close in production, yet mine was around Sept. 1970.
Cannot find my letter from Elvira Ruocco, as not home, but it is around that date.
Why would AR sell a KD car in Europe? Or, their interpretation of KD, means less motor,
and just an 'empty shell'? It would make sense, as the cost is lower w/o running gear.
AR, was always

I guess it's plausible that early cars went off the line more or less complete, across to Autodelta for stripping & conversion to Gp2. Maybe later on they requested incomplete cars to save wasting time at both ends.

Hello Toy and Vince,

I haven't seen solid proof of 1750 GTAm's being sold as Completely Knocked Down or C.K.D. in the past.

The letter Don published, indicates that #1532345 is one. This letter is a solid bit of evidence to me, coming from Marco Fazio and his team back in the day.

There is another candidate that could have been sold as C.K.D.
The 1750 GTAm that went to Greece in 1971. #1532099. Differences in tariffs and import duties between functioning cars and a car in parts, could have been a reason.

Nobody has been able to supply the info on import duties and tariffs for cars and car parts in Greece in the early 1970's yet.
That info could give us a lead.

More info will come up. Let's wait and see! Especially Takis & myself will be curious about info on tariffs & duties and C.K.D. delivered 1750 GTAm's.

Cheers, Olaf 👌🍀

Thank you. There is a lot of mystery associated with some cars.
