Autostrada Milan -Turin 1947.
It was three-lane until the 1960s, central lane for overtaking.
Crazy accidents in the fog.
Saw this on Facebook and thought I'd share.

The main highway all the way down through the center of Yugoslavia was the same in the 70’s with the passing lane down the middle. Tons of accidents and wreaths by the side of the road.
some things are better today! (I haven’t been back there but trust the road has improved.
