Speedometer / Tachometer Dim Night Lighting 1974 Alfa Spider

The night lighting of the speedometer and tachometer is pretty much useless for my old eyes on my 1974 Alfa Spider. It lights up but pretty dim. Any input on how to improve this dim lighting would be appreciated. There is no dimmer control on the car. Not sure what type of bulb is in them or if an LED bulb is available that would upgrade visability. Thank You Larry Hunt

LEDs make a huge difference. But don't get tempted to buy the cheap Chinese types. After trying that, I switched to the expensive Osram LEDriving BA9s type and they work extremely well.

Just be sure NOT to use an LED bulb in the GEN light socket.

Should be a dimmer located between the wiper switch and heater switch. Removed by PO?

It was removed by the previous owner or broke. There is a device there but no nob to turn. I'll look into a replacement.

If I can trust the wiring diagram, the instrument lighting is not under the dimmer on a '74 Spider.
