Can anyone tell me how to take this windshield out without damaging it? Is there even a way to remove this type of windshield glued in trim without breaking the glass? I have a pretty good sized chip in this glass but I still don't want to replace it but I see no way to fix the rust on the bottom sill without removing the glass. Please advise of what you know about glued in molding type windscreens? Thank You, Ray

The glass will need to be removed to perform metal rust repair in the A pillar and its lower corners...

I believe the means and methods to remove the trim and glass requires working a thin gauge, high tensile strength wire back and forth under the adhesive, removing first the trim and then the glass. Think of flossing your teeth... but I've never done it and will defer to someone else who has. Regardless, there are no guarantees that breakage won't occur, either by a DIYer or professional. Also, there are no guarantees that the trim wont be bent or scratched during the process, and getting them straight would require some effort. I've never seen a glue-in replacement that didn't show some tell tale in the trim reinstallation.

That being said, most people convert to the gasketed windshield, either due to the difficulty in removing the glue-in trim/windshield, ability for ease of future removal, or the inability to find replacement trim and/or windshield.

there was a decent thread here on those glued in screens
(tbh, this is the first I ever heard of them...I thought all 105s had rubber gasket screens...learnin' somthin' new every day...apparently they first were used in USA in '71)

if you break the glass I don't think you will find another (size is different), and then you'll need to change to rubber gasket type.
Don't throw the 'glue in' trim away, that is not easy to find.
I read people have swopped over to gasket type, because the glue in trim sat directly on the paint and rust started there.

@VabeneGTV has a glue-in windshield if S&H from MA isn't an issue...

Hopefully a Moderator can move this to the GT Section...

I have a glued in windshield, I didn't take the original windshield out ( a mechanic did that years ago ) But I did install the new windshield and the glued on molding too. I'll sent you a PM, it would take a few minutes to explain how I installed mine. I used 3M Marine adhesive 5200
