Driveshaft Compatibility

I'd like to look into getting a used driveshaft for my '83 GTV6. What other driveshaft will work? Any year GTV6? How about a Milano driveshaft? I know the donuts sometime vary from year to year. What donuts should I use, those associated with the driveshaft or my car?

thanks

Ummm... Considering there's a 4" difference in wheel base, the answer is no.

Thanks, JoeCab! Mystery solved. I saw in another post that some donut types vary in thickness, I suppose some combination of thinner donuts won't be enough to get the correct gap.

Unsure about the later cars but when I was researching the building of a clubmman utilising 4cyl Alfettta driveline components we pretty much determined that the differences in the sedan and coupe propshafts length was all in one half (can't recall if front or rear half). I assume the same would be true for the GTV6 and Milano. A check of PNs should solve it if someone has access.

Of course by swappping half a shaft the cost of rebalancing would negate any advantages of the process.

Ummm... Assuming the engine is in the same location (I'm guessing it is), I agree the answer would be no.

A 4" difference in the wheel base is not proof that the driveshafts are different lengths.
