Did the 164 ever come with a toolkit?

... like the Maserati Biturbo did?

Mine is missing it, if it ever had one. If it did have one, where can I get a OEM replacement, otherwise, what tools do you carry with you?

Tool kit

Both of our 164's have tool kits and I occasionally see them on ebay. They are whit foam containers that fit into the spare tire opening and there is a strap that holds it in place. The kit contains a lug, spark plug, An several open wrenches along with a pin that screws onto a wheel bolt hole to assist in remounting the tire after removal. There may also be a screwdriver as well. It has been a fwe years since I looked in them so I'm. not sure of the smaller tools. I have seen htem on ebay for around $30.00 or so.

Our 89 Milano has one of the nicest tool kits I've seen in an Alfa. Comes in a nice plastic case with tools (yes, they are cheap, but they are tools!), plug wrench, and slots for light bulbs, fuses, and some other stuff (I don't remember what), and a pair of white gloves. Would like to find at least another for the LS.

Well, because the Milano tool kit is much nicer than the one for the 164, and I would rather have that for my other 164 (which came with none) than another cheesy 164 kit.

Agreed. I'll probably buy one because the Milano ones goes for sooo much, although there should be a bunch of them floating around from all the Milanos which have been parted out.

IIRC, the nice tool kit with the plastic case came on the Verde and Platinum Milanos, and was "optional" on the Gold and Silver editions.

So, all things considered they are pretty rare.

Rory,

Before spending the cash on one make sure that it will fit in your car. There should be a stud/bolt attached to the rear sheetmetal that protrudes through the carpet that the toolbox is mounted to. YOu can see the screw on knob in this picture that holds the toolbox in place.

My car is really dirty right now so don't judge it!!!!

Plastic Tool kit

I do have the spot for the Plastic Toolkit for the 1995 164LS so if anyone has one for sale, please let me know. I'm also looking for an owners manual, it was the only thing missing in the pouch.
