More Info/Pics

Here are some more photos:

http://vivinogtv6.shutterfly.com/pictures/8

I have had the car for 5 years - bought it from New Mexico. - prob third owner
I have driven it only a few thousand m since I bought it
I have done timing belt/tensioner, rubber donuts (guibos), rear brake pads
I recharged A/C 5 years ago - could use another charge

Almost all stock except
aftermarket radio
exhaust headers
1986 GTV6 wheeks

Transmission is better than most Alfas but still a minimal grind if you try to slam it down into 2nd. OK if you take a half second to shift down. Otherwise engine and transmission are great.

No problem. Thank you for putting the car on here. It's also now on the May 3rd posting for mint2me.com

Fred DiMatteo solved a few Alfa problems for me, usually just with a quick phone call he knew what to do.

Yeh !

Father Fred was one of the best !Did you know that he was quite the electrical genius among many other things . When the voltage regulator on the GTV6 alternator wasn't doing the job , he invented his own - even jacked up my GTV6 one day at his home in Sudbury and threw it on for me in under 2 minutes . The guy was something else ! RIP Fred !

Fred

We had the pleasure of going to Italy with Fred to pick up the first Milanos in '86. Had a great time, even though someone rear ended me before we could get it shipped home. Fred and Anne are greatly missed.

Snippy ,

Where are you located ? I knew Fred for almost 30 years - even got him his famous license plate " Mr. Alfa " that we gave him at a party at my former house in Massachusetts . They really are so missed !

For anyone looking at my car the model year is 1985.5 and not 1986. Sorry for the confusion. My first GTV6 was an 1986 and my spider is an 1986 and the 1985.5 GTV6's are virtually identical to the 1986's.

It's ME, I bought it

Hi all,
I was the lucky buyer to grab Paul's GTV-6. It's being shipped up here to Avon Lake, Ohio. And before anyone gets nervous about it being in the rust belt, this Alfa will be a Summer-Fall car only. We leave for Florida usually in October for the rest of the bad weather months.

You'll probably be seeing me posted with all sorts of tech questions, suggestions and the like. I know it; I owned a brand new GTV-6 and it was problematic. But the rewards outweigh the downsides.

P.S. also owned a '58 Giulietta, a '58 spider veloce, a '59 Sprint. All in my youth.

As nice as this GTV-6 is...

...and it is nice, I've managed to spend $2100 on it already! Had the transmission re-built, new 2nd gear, new synchros, repaired and re-charged the AC and new battery. Ya gotta love these Alfas! So, while I've owned it for a while, I've only driven it about five days; it's Ben in the shop the rest of the time.
