24v access to knock sensor under pipe?

My 164 24v has knock 2 sensor error, it should be sensor on air filter side ?

I have plenum and chrome pipes removed, and want to pull big water pipe between heads to gain access to knock sensor, i tried to remove screws on that side and pull pipe, but it won't go.

Is there any bolts on water pump side or its just pushed in?
Can it be removed without removing water pump?

And if knock2 error in ECU does not impact performace (limp mode), should i leave it as is? (maybe its wire harness faulty, becouse if i just connect now sensor error remains)?

I also need torque specs for valve cover if someone knows.

You probably can't get coolant pipe our of housing on top of water pump because it is corroded in place and it has two rubber o-ring seals on it.

If you remove thermostat and middle housing with two hose to heads you can unbolt lower housing from pump and maybe lift up coolant tube enogh too can access to rear knock sensor.

I had to destroy lower housing on a 24v engine to get tube out of housing because of sheared off thermostat bolts.

Here is picture of old and new one: http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/704849-post10.html

Steve is correct about the corrosion but worse still people glue the pipe in with sealant. Maybe to lazy to change the o'rings they just refit the pipe with crap. Change the o'rings and use some rubber grease when you re-fit. No sealant.
Any dimensions/part numbers for these o-rings? Thanks.

Errrr, scrap the above and check the reply above from Super Steve, which answers everything :)
