I wrote to a broker I used previously and he said I would pay the import tariff from Italy which is 25% for vehicles. It needs to be paid before bringing it across the border.

I'm still researching. When I google it comes up saying classic vehicles over 25 years old are exempt but I guess it depends on what day of the week it is when it comes to government policy.

Just go read the comments of old bat auctions, especially Porsches, lots of discussion there, over and over again about importing.

I am familiar with importing and I have done so but not under the current tariff rules which are in a constant state of flux. Old BAT auctions were not affected by tariffs.
