You will need to contact a broker on the US side of the border.

 

I wrote to a broker I used previously and he said I would pay the import tariff from Italy which is 25% for vehicles. It needs to be paid before bringing it across the border.

 

Well I just paid a 70% tariff on small auto parts, including a washer, a spring, and a small switch, totalling $30. The tariff was $23!

 

I don’t believe there would be a tariff on used goods

 

Ya, the people on bat are special. I think every single Canadian auction, there’s always some dude that asks about importing. Every single time, often more than once. It’s discouraging.

 

A savvy American buyer who does their homework can definitely find bargains up north. Be sure to thank our incompetent government for our $.70 dollar.

 

I'm still researching. When I google it comes up saying classic vehicles over 25 years old are exempt but I guess it depends on what day of the week it is when it comes to government policy.

 

Just go read the comments of old bat auctions, especially Porsches, lots of discussion there, over and over again about importing.
