1967 Duetto exhaust fitment

CA knows their stuff so if you told them that you have a floor pedal car, they sent you the correct exhaust section.
That's likely a manufacturing defect or imperfection as mentioned above.
The hanging pedal components would be hitting the down pipe itself if it was the wrong part.
 
I crawled under my '67 duetto / 1600 and tried to get some pictures of my downpipes, ordered from Centerline.
Arm is close but doesn't hit.

I took two, front & back.
When I bought the car 20 years ago, the transmission bracket was missing so I installed one I had in a parts bin.
Not sure if it was the correct one for a 67 but I got one hole to line up.
Its been fine since.
They are known for not always lining up exactly.
