Hi,
friend of mine has a 1992 164S and we are trying to solve problem with ABS and brakes. It worked fine as it should, but he decided to rebuild whole rear axle (rust protection etc.) which required to disconnect brake lines and brake regulator mounted on crossmember. After rebuild he bleed whole system with a new brake fluid step by step as it is in CarDisc but now after first braking ABS stops working and the light goes on. After restarting the engine, whole situation repeats. First we tried to check rear ABS sensors, but they looks fine (there is a bit clearance, but they are rusted into the hub carrier so it is impossible to move them without damage. Also he tried to repeat bleeding procedure but that did not help too. Do you have any suggestions about what could cause this malfunction? Is there any way to diagnose ABS system? First versions does not have diagnostic connector. Thank you for any idea.
