Greek GTAms:
I was focused on other Alfa Romeos for the last few years, so I may not be up to date with the Greek cars.

The first GTAm that came to Greece had the same livery than the two Belgian Grafo-GTAms for the 1971 Francorchamps 24h with Jean-Claude Franck/Robert Derom and Gérald Simonis/Luc Goris. They were white with golden Kent sponsorship. I can not tell the colour for the Greek car since I collected only b/w photos.

The first documented entry for the Greek GTAm might be the 19710725 race at the Tatoi airfield on Kriti/Crete/Kreta with starting number 6. This is the same weekend than when the 24h of Spa were held, so it cannot be one of the Belgian cars. The next entry for the GTAm that I have recorded was the 19711003 race at RĂłdos/Rhodes/Rhodos with n. 6; there the GTAm of Lakis Fotiadis is shown with big rear lights for a late car. This was the race in which Yannis "Mavros" Meimaridis had his fatal accident with the GTA. About a month later there was another race at Tatoi, in which Mavros' team partner Fotiadis did with n. 7 his last race, since he still was not fit to drive after his friend's tragic death he skipped racing.

There were some other races that year for which I have no date: at Kérkyra/Corfu/Korfu the GTAm raced possibly with n. 7, the image description wrote also Ródos/Rhodes/Rhodos 1970, but at this time there seem no late GTAm had been built. Further Mavros raced the hillclimb Omalos at Kriti/Crete/Kreta with n. 3. So Mavros and Fotiadis swapped the GTA and the GTAm within the team during 1971 and these races must have been before Mavros was killed. At the 1971 hillclimb Mont Parnassós a GTAm should have been involved in a fatal accident but I have not seen a second GTAm racing or read more about this event.

The 1972 season saw again only one GTAm in Greece, but it had a new livery because of the new Motor Hellas team sponsor Castrol. My first record is the 19720402 Tatoi race with n. 6, Georges Moschous was the new driver. But the car had small rear lights now. 19720829 or 19720903 Moschous raced at Voula with n. 4, and 19730128 again at Tatoi Moschous raced with n. 6. Further races with no date were at Tatoi with n. 3 (big rear lights) and a hillclimb at Athína/Athens/Athen, race number unknown (small rear lights). Since the other livery was not changed over the season it is most likely that the car was involved in a rear accident early that year and the damaged rear was fixed with a new panel of the older version. In both years the car had this “E 43” number plate, which was a kind of a dealer registration.

In one of the following seasons 1973 or 1974 a GTAm with a new livery was raced with n. 5 at Tatoi. It had the same look like in 1971/1972 with a similar roll bar inside and the Alfa Romeo lettering on the windscreen. The registration was “E 101”, which was used for a standard GTV 2000 in the 1973 Rally Akrópolis(?) with n. 39 by Moschous/Zoubroulis, too, so the registration was interchangeable by the owner (there is also another race number n. 23 for Moschous given, the Greeks' memories seem not to be very accurate).

After some years of no records, in 1978(?) the GTAm did a number of races at Tatoi: one of the first races was with n. 3, the windscreen had still the Alfa Romeo lettering and the roll bar is the same. But the grille was from an Alfetta and the car had got a front air dam and a rear spoiler. At least two more races were done there with n. 9 and n. 11, the Alfa Romeo lettering was gone, and the car had a big hoop on the bonnet, they say because of a Alfetta 16v engine fitted.

Also in 1978 at Tatoi there was this wide single head light GTA/GTAJ/GTAm with n. 25 which seems to be the car that was raced in 1979 with n. 90 as a GTA 1300 and in about 1982 with n. 6 at a Rothmans sponsored rallye at Ródos/Rhodes/Rhodos as pictured in Alleggerita n. 1 by Tony Adriaensens and later photographed by "gtacorsa". In 2004 it was offered by Superstrada and via Mobile.de, “a GTA raced 1965-1971 and 1980-1983” but with hanging pedals and 1750 cc engine.

GTAm #1531231 was owned in the early 2000s near AthĂna/Athens/Athen but it seems it was bought at the 20011204 Christie's auction at London or a later 20030704 Christie's auction, so it was not one of the cars above.

The car in the films was obviously restored to 1972 livery, it is known since about the early 2000s, too. It has now a stripped interior with a wrong front panel and a wrong roll bar, VIN starts with “153”, the rest I could not read.
Those rear wheels on the last “goodyear” car looks to be at least 10” or possibly 11x13? Much wider than what gtam initially came with.
