I don't know what the difference is but I assume I need the '82 twin pod. What I have looks like the attached photo (but I need the cover).

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the dash component that holds the speedo and tach. You evidently are looking for a cover for the part shown in the photo. I've got to look and see if I have one for you. I'll get back either way.
