I'm in Northern Virginia. I gave you a call today, Bob, but you were out. I'll try again this evening.
In the meantime, maybe I can get some opinions on the best way to deal w/my situation. My Shankles are leaking at the flanges and the down pipes are crushed a little from hitting the ground (standard problem w/the Shankles I understand). I'm looking for a solid fix that is not too expensive. My problem is that I'm not even sure I have a catalytic converter at the moment (the car passed emissions in VA, but just barely . . . don't know if that's possible w/out a cat). Thus, if I go w/new stock manifolds, I have to find a down-pipe (which I haven't been able to do yet), probably a new cat (considering after-market models like the Magnaflow, which are much cheaper), and then I'm not sure what else behind the cat.
One possible option I'm considering is a gasket from
REMFLEX Exhaust Gaskets: Home Page. The sell a very flexible gasket that can fill gaps up to 1/16". But to get one of their gaskets, I have to send them a template, which means pulling apart the exhaust.
Anyone have any advice on the best way to get things sorted out?
