Hi...

I've had a few false starts but now I've managed to kick off the training for a 70.3 race (half Iron Man in old money:D) I'd like to see if I can find an Alfa Romeo cycling shirt to race in... The bike isn't Italian so I'm thinking at least something should be...

Anyone have any ideas which stones (other than the obvious Ebay) to look under

Cheers

Our club in Victoria (Aust) has a few cycling nuts and a few years ago they got together and did a run of jersys and knicks with the Alfa logo on them. I heard recently they were thinking of doing another run.....I will make some inquiries for you.

Cheers Phil...

A custom run would be perfect...If the guys are looking for a supplier, a mate imports the Vermarc range of cycling clothing to this part of the world and does some really nice custom work... but unfortunately a run of 1 won't work :D

Get them to have a look at www.supremedesign.co.nz

I'd be seriously keen to look at anything! & travel across the ditch to Melbourne occasionally so it could work out well

Cheers

I recently won an ebay auction for a red Alfa Romeo Rosso short sleeved shirt. It cost me over $100. Be prepared to bid high if you want the real thing.

If there were a bunch of people interested in doing an Alfa Cycling Jersey, I might have an in with one of the clothing companies. My guess is that they have a minimum order of 100, but how many cylists are there on the board? I'd be interested in one. It would be fully custom so we could get creative.

If there is enough interest I'd be interested in looking into it.

Will,
I would probably be interested. What I'd REALLY like to find is one of the jerseys used by the pro race team sponsored by Alfa in the early 80's (I think). There was both a red version and a blue version (I have a blue one). Both had a large Alfa emblem centered on the front and back, Alfa script above each emblem, and Alfa in block letters down each side. Wish I'd been smart enough at the time to buy a few:(

Do you think this would gain enough interest to float across the general alfa forum rather than the classifieds?

I would be interested in one too, as long as you don't buy just size L and XL. I say put it out to the general forum.

Wool winter trainers & cycling jerseys

Send a message and pester the proprietor at Vintage Velos-Wool Cycling Clothing, Jerseys, Vintage Racing Parts. He said they had a limited run of these nice red Alfa training tops. (Some have full zip, and some just part way). These are extremely nice garments. Very soft wool, and all real chain stitch embroidery. The other photo shows a wool Alfa jersey they used to make but not sure if they do any longer. If you're interested...pester them with a message. (They also make the Cinzano and Molteni jerseys, and many others). This is currently the best resource for wool jerseys. You will be able to find lycra Alfa jerseys on eBay still. Just save your search as a favorite so you get notified whenever they come up.

Hi there all

About 5 yrs ago, I did a run of Alfa jerseys and shorts for club members at AROCA Vic (Australia), managed to get some to the US, UK, South Africa, and all over.

I am intending on doing another run shortly (a month or so time) as I have run out of my own stock, I only ever bike race in the Alfa kit.

Check out our club website, that's me on the right. I have an Eddie Merckx Titanium and now race a Giant Advanced LE

Email me with your interest so I can get extras when the time comes for production. [email protected]

I am also the competition secretary for the club and organizes 8 sprint meetings plus a 6hr relay each year.
