Went to the shop yesterday to pull the heads off the 164 and got sidetracked
I opened the trunk of the Alfetta and saw the giant rear sway bar that came off a junker. Well, needless to say I decided that the Alfettas handling was oh so much more important than an oil leaking head. I dropped the rear of the trans removed the e-brake cable, pulled the old crappy/skinny sway bar out and installed the big thick sway bar. Wow!! What a difference
I already have a big bar in the front and that made a world of difference.
I almost threw myself out of the drivers seat on a couple of twistys
.
It does feel like the rear will break traction sooner under hard accel.
It really tightens up the suspension. I am a little worried that I will have to beef up the mounting points now. The car it came off had one of the de dion mounting points torn off. I guess that I'll weld some strengthening brackets soon.
