I have purchased a wool carpet set for a 1960 101 spider. The center pieces of carpet are perfect. The sill pieces are different from what is in the car now (said to be original). The old sill pieces in the car are almost the same width, from front to back. The new pieces are much wider in the middle. I guess I can tuck the excess material under the rubber front floor mats and under the seats(removing the seat rails) doesn't sound like an easy job. Anyone know why the side sill pieces are different? Anyone run into this before?

Thanks for your comment. I enclose here below some picture of installation of carpet set on the car. Width should not be a problem when installed correctly, unless you got a different version of the carpet (i.e. the 750 model instead of 101).
