Spark plug wires---

I'm having trouble trying to figure out where each wire goes.
Here is a picture of how I see it.

I put a "T" in the top of the rotor cap and a "B" at the bottom.
I tried going top to bottom in the wire order 1,2,3 then the ignition coil
and going 4,5,6. 6 Being at the very bottom of the rotor cap.

Now I can't start--
Is this correct?

Whoa -- I was way off.
The previous owner used a sharpie to write numbers on the rotor cap.
I guess he was wrong.

thanks so much---

I think it was Steve who told me that the black cover for the dist cap has the wire destinations molded into it. This all by itself is reason enough for not throwing that plastic cover away.

Michael, these are not on all distributor caps. The Bosch cap I bought a while ago had the number markings, however, the old cap that I pulled off did not.

But I wasn't talking about the distributor cap. I was talking about the plastic cover that goes over the cap, which I have not seen packaged in with the replacement distributor caps I 've bought. Even the Bosch one, I believe. That made me think this cap is an Alfa supplied item.

Michael, we are talking about the same thing: The black plastic cover.

I bought the cap from Bosch directly and it does have the numbers.
