I thought it was my wiper blades but after replacing them they still chatter on my 2017 Giulia.

It seems like there is probably substance on my windshield that is causing it.

Any recommendations on cleaning the windshield to prevent the chatter?

Any specific products?

Thanks

Have you tried Rain-X? Vigorously applied. Worked once for me on my very annoying Honda Fit wipers.

I'm not a fan of Rain-X. I've had pretty poor results with it: it doesn't last very long and it seems to fark up my wiper action even worse.

I'd just try scrubbing the glass better. Get something like water spot remover, there are a bunch out there. I've got a bottle of Autoglym stuff that I use, but there are lots of similar products like this that will deep clean the surface without scratching:

I use toothpaste, not the gel stuff but the actual paste stuff, it is a very, very mild abrasiveness to it I find that the windshields get grimy with all the different fallout that we get I put a little on the screen and use a good glass cleaner and paper towels to clean it all off, the toothpaste takes away all that grime and you finish up with the glass cleaner I also spray some brakekleen on the wiper rubbers and give them a good cleaning as well Has worked for me for years

Thanks, Rick

Wiper chatter is not usually caused by dirty windshields (otherwise all daily driver cars on the road would have wiper chatter). Instead, it is typically caused by the wiper arms being bent in the wrong position. Watch these videos and see how they fix it.

I mean, maybe? But I’ve fixed many a car by either cleaning the glass or replacing worn out blades, and I’ve never ever had to bend the wipers.
