The market has decided for me

Trying to sell a convertible in the winter is like ....trying to sell a convertible in the winter. :p
Well, she's gone. :(

I had two people scheduled to come this weekend to see it. Both were serious buyers. The first guy showed up with a trailer in tow, so I know he was very serious! :p Looked it over and took it for a test drive and it was sold and gone in a half hour. Very nice guy...bought it for his wife!
I told him about this board and hope to see him here soon.

Really a sad day to see it go...loved that car, but 3 Italian cars just got to be too much. I will focus now on further restoring my 81 Fiat Spider and tuning up my 164LS. Until, that is...I get bit by the Alfa Spider bug again...

Well, you are right about the Alfa taking focus away from other priorities... I also have a 124 Fiat Spider. It's a '75, with 38k mi. The engine is ready to go back in, but I've never gotten around to pulling everything else out to have her re-painted inside and out! (Maybe I'll make a resolution.) Still, I think this is the first time I've heard of someone who owns both Spider models choose the Fiat over the Alfa... What's this world coming to?

Curios as to why you choose to keep the 81 Fiat rather than the Alfa. They seem to be very similar in a lot of ways. I've always admired the Fiat spider but have never owned one.

One simple reason.I am the original owner of the Fiat. Bought it new from the dealer in my early twenties. How many owners of these cars are the original owner? Gotta keep it!

Ummmm, Bad reason to keep a wife but understandable for a nice car.

Yes! I am on the Board of FLU. Have been going to Freakouts for 20 years. Will bring my 164 and maybe the Fiat too. How about you?
I've got a '74 Fiat 124 Spider and a '91 Alfa Spider. The Fiat is easier to work on and has a noticeably larger interior. In my case, my '91 is in much better shape, my '74 Fiat needs some work to be a reliable car, so I drive the Alfa and think about restoring, or sometimes selling, the Fiat. Both great cars. Alfa's generally better maintained and better quality overall, although I am partial to the overall look of the Fiat.

I volunteered to help! My name is on the list that the Philly group has... :) I'll be taking my black Alfa Spider... (I wish I had the 124 ready, but since I haven't done anything it's unrealistic that it will even be close to being ready... Perhaps by 2009...) I'm really looking forward to this event! Although I've had a Fiat Spider for many years, I haven't been a member of the club since the early '80s, and I've never been to Freakout. Plus, the FLU people are a very nice group. :)

I was in FLU back when it started, anybody remember FCOA and Santo J. Bimbo??? Where and when is the '08 Freak Out?
The 2008 Freakout is July 11 thru the 13. It will be at Pocono Manor in the Poconos.
