During replacement of the MC on my '69, I found that a PO rounded off the shoulders of one of the large tube nuts on a line from the reservoir to the MC. Thinking I would make a short patch piece, I quickly found these are obsolete fittings. Papajam advises that this fitting is 7/16 - 20. The local parts stores carry lots of sizes but not that one. An internet search (including Fedhill) also yielded nothing except some adapters to go from 7/16-20 to other more common thread sizes. Unfortunately there's no room to fit one of these adapters between the MC and the floorpan. Anyone know where to find these fittings other than APE ??

Cheers,

Jeff

One must think a bit outside the box on this one. Go to the Vintage British/Girling brake section on the FedHill site located here. Half way down the page in the right column is part number P11-4.

Wow am I glad you spotted this !
For some reason, Fedhill doesn't include this fitting in their section titled
"1/4 Inch Brake Line and Nuts "
even though it is a 1/4 " tube fitting.

I'm going to order the 12-pack ! :D

(The guys at the NAPA counter were totally convinced this fitting was NLA.....)

thanx for the rescue on this, Jim...

Cheers,

Jeff
