Hi all
I am new to AlfaBB and need some help - I have seen a post regarding getting information of factory spec of Spider Giulia 101 born in 1965-I have a RHD model with body ref No383236 & believe looking at other posts that this is an original RHD car - The Engine No is AR10525 so not too sure whether this is original or later addition & the Chassis No is 10119-the past owner restored the car and has been in his possession since 1983 -Great car & just trying now to trace history - help much appreciated

Go to the search menu here on the ABB and type in your serial #. Use "Advance Search" And, send an email to ARCHIVIO STORICO ALFA ROMEO, [email protected] with Vin numbers (engine and body).

Welcome spider65.

The records I have show that car model number 10119 is indeed a RHD Giulia Spider 1600. 404 examples were built, with chassis numbers ranging from 383001-383404, between 6/63-3/64. The original engine type is AR00112.

The Alfa Archives in Italy can provide the exact build date and some other information. Send an email with the chassis number, 383236, to Marco Fazio at [email protected] .

Thank you Alfabits & Papajam for the information, I will get onto Marco Fazio tommorow and let you know how I get on - do either of you know where the Engine No: of AR10526 would originate from-I know the PO rebuilt this Spider from this & a donor car Spider Chassis No: AR374173 but that one couldn't be saved and nor could the Engine No AR00112 (alas!)

Although Alfa did not produce an engine with type number 10526, they did produce engine type 00526. Could the engine number be 00526?

Thank you for your help papajam -I will have another look at the engine number.

With thanks to both Alfabits & papajam, I have recieved confirmation from Marco Fazio regarding the start of my Giulia's life see below

Dear Sir

with reference to your request we are informing you as follows.

According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 383236 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider RHD (101.19), manufactured on the 9th March 1964 and sold on the 8th May 1964 to Thomson & Taylor, Surrey, UK.

The body colour is white, with black interiors.

Yours, Sincerely,
Marco Fazio

[email protected]

The car is still white and has the black interior - Happy Days!
