I changed the fluid in my transmission and in the process, I found this gasket has come loose. Any ideas on where it came from and how to put it back. I hope this will explain where some of the fluid you see in this pic came from.

You mean the o-ring on the speedo cable? They make them like that. My guess is it's to keep the threaded collar from sliding too far back as you install.

Yes, that o-ring is usually found on the speedo gauge end.
Also, that oil you see on the transmission mount comes from a leaky engine rear seal. Aka free rust-proofing.

I was hoping that was the case.

GTA ALFA
This engine will remain until the end of summer And will be replaced by one I’m putting together now. Some time ago, I purchased a disassembled 1750 engine that Wes Ingram put together. I bought it from another ALFABB member. Wes said it should make around 140hp. That will be fun

Yes, and thank you. Every day I work on my Alfa i learn something new about it. I appreciate all the help I’ve gotten from members of this BB.
