Hello all, I have an issue I was hopeing I could get some help with. I have what is believed to be a 74 GTV with DMV papers that state a 73. Is there a definateve Vin Cross reference available that includes those years. If it helps, my Vin is AR 3021895. I was told that there is an Alfa Office in Florida but I can't find a contact for them. I would think they could give me an answer. Un fortunitely, I'm dealing with the DMV so you guys know how much of a head ache they can be. What ever source I find I'll need a printable version to show the car nazi's. Thanks guys, any help would be great.

But build date isn't necessarily the model year, which is what DMV would care about.

I don't know about generally, but my 72 spider was built in july 72. For sure they start building the year before, but carry into the next year. Some years they were building two model years at the same time. Or maybe a better way to think about it is that model year is not significant except to regulators who impose different standards based on model year.

AR 39021895 is a 1973 GTV. Perchance sold new in 1974, but a mid 1973 built car. If they say 73, then so much he better as it sold the year it was made. I think GTV's sold continuously 71-74.

For comparison: I have 3021659 and 3021889 as 73's, from ebay.

The last 73 I have recorded is 3022461, this is the prugna car out of southern California that has been on ebay frequently the last month. Fusi ends 1972 with 3021166. The Last GTV I have recorded is a 1975, 3025948, another ebay car.

What year DMV says it is doesn't really matter, so long as you don't have to smog it due to a gross error.

Try sending the VIN into Alfa, maybe? I don't know about the Alfa office in Florida but their archives department in Italy is still up and running.

Oh C'mon, mail the museum, museostorico, and get a factory affidavit, instead of this. They'll send you official notice of your car, when produced, and where first sold. It's on this forum!
Use the search for full adress, Don't recall just like that. Or google the factory. Usually they'll mail you back in a couple of days!
G'luck!
