what is this hidden welded in nut for??

I thought 3-point (shoulder) seatbelts didn't happen until post 1978.

This is my 1974 and I pulled the drape off and found this welded in nut near where the top would hit it if it were down.

Anyone wanna clue me in??

The seat belt reel had about a foot long metal strap that was bolted at that point and the reel was bolted to the other end. This got the reel below the top when it was folded down.

You can see the impression of the strap on the metal in front of the nut.

shoulder belt

Just as a point of information, while looking for a place to drill hole for the shoulder strap, I saw this funny little bump on the interior brace. Turned out to be a plug for the shoulder belt attachment nut as seen in the picture sent by Robvolz. Don't know if earlier duettos have this attachment. Do not have a problem with the top down but not the same top design as in the 71s and later. Even so, does anyone have a picture of the "foot long metal strap"?
