What I PLAN to do is put in a starter relay I ordered from Amazon, and mount the electric fan, if I can, in back of the radiator. It isn't working worth a **** in front as a pusher.

I took a fuel pressure reading, and found the injectors to be leaking badly. I also learned that I can 'prime' the system by switching the key on and off. I'll get around to swapping injectors at some point...

What I NEED to do is yank out the fuel rail again and re-cut the lengths of hose to the injectors, as I cut them too long last time...seems that on #1 and #2, they need to be a bit shorter if I want to use the rail mount...

What I WILL do is drive the TR6 to lunch, then spend the rest of the day figuring out how to install it's soft top.

My life is so rough. :crying2:

I spent the better part of the day investigating a poor running condition after swapping fuel injectors out for refurbs. Low fuel pressure lead me to the fuel pump and filter. I must have crawled under and back up from the car 20x for various reasons. I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

I replaced the last piece of the 'gas smell' puzzle yesterday- the fuel filler hose and the rubber catch/drain in my S3. The hose was really stiff and a PITA to get on; I had to boil it, and even then I had to lube up the gas tank neck and the other end also with dish soap to slide it in. It worked, though! No more fuel vapors. The last rubber thing in the fuel circuit; wouldn't you know it.

It was actually Friday that I did this, but...I called on the shop doing the rebuild of my engine after it ate rings in #3. He's had it since early July..still working on it. I guess the kit he ordered didn't come with seals for the liners, so he had to order those also. I miss my car! I'm going to go in tomorrow and put a towel on the dashboard. I hope that it isn't cracked all to hell from the car sitting in the sun all this time...:frown2:

I got a call this morning from Nasco's- the local Alfa shop- my engine rebuild has been completed and I can pick the car up starting tomorrow!! I miss my spider, and can't wait to feel what a fresh engine feels like...and with 10:1 cr to boot.

I've spent 2 days, 4hrs each day, detailing my car for the first time- using Griot's Garage products. By hand, because I didn't have an orbital. Lot's of work, but worth it! I've never worked on the paint on this beast before- lots of work. But worth it in the end! I used to love detailing my cars, but it's more of a PITA for me these days:thumbdown:

It's worth it in the end, though. :smile2:

Started the process to sign up for Hagerty today. I'm worried that I haven't heard back from the agent...he called at one point to ask me 'would I be driving my cars to work more than 60x in a year?" I said 100x, combined with the TR6 that I'm also trying to insure through them. Haven't heard back yet :surprise: Hey, they say that it's OK to do so...once in a while...

Yeah, I found a switch on Ebay and a relay. Are there supposed to be two relays? I have one in the fusebox...
Probably more of a question for another thread, but if the gauge pod bulb for the defroster was bad, would it keep the defroster from working? Mine doesn't light, but I have at least 3 other out also.

Just one relay. Alfa moved the the location of the relay around on the fusebox. I think the location difference is whether you have a bullet fusebox or the blade style fusebox.
I figured it out! Thanks for making me look. Yesterday, I pulled the fuse panel down to switch relays around- my fuse box is different than those in the Bentley manual, and I thought that needed to switch some relays around. I found that the major relays have special pin-outs in back and only fit in certain holes...BUT I found that two wires were almost all the way pushed out of the back of the relay plugs! One for the rear defogger, and one for the relay next to it. I now have power to the rear window, and my turn signal and hazzard now flash in the gauge pod. I actually thought it was a burned out bulb...

Today I had much less luck. I went to install a starter relay, having heard it was a '30min' job. I can't even access the starter from under the car!! I didn't feel like pulling the intake off. So then I went for the front bumper- need to remove that and replace a bent bumper shock, but the side markers wouldn't budge. No twisting to remove, frozen in good. So that job was put back a while.

So I just took it for a drive. Then raked leaves :|
