I want to put on my new water pump so I can get my car back together. BUt I cant figure out how to remove the pump from the block. Do I have to remove the crank pulley because it seems to be in the way of the bottom of the pump.

Any tips will help me out a lot. The head is removed if that makes any diff. at all.

Remove the two bottom waterpump studs from the timing cover using the double-nut method. The pump will now fit past the crank pulley. On installation, replace the two studs with bolts; 6x1.0x20 (I think).

What is the double nut method?

If I understand what you are saying to put 2 nuts on and then turn the inside one counterclockwise which should take the stud out of the timing cover.

Yes, that's correct. The idea is to slightly loosen the nut that's on the stud, add a second nut and then tighten the two nuts against each other just enough so that when the inside nut is turned counterclockwise, the stud will unscrew.
Easier done than said.
