water bag location

does anyone know the correct location for the windshield washer water bag on a german delivery 1967 duetto? there are no clips/bag holders to be found anywhere on the passenger side firewall and none behind the battery. there are two clips behind the brake booster on the drivers side inner fender but it seems impossible that the bag would go there because of the booster brackets. photos from the spider restorers guide show an early duetto with the bag behind the battery...but again I don't have clips or remains of clips there.

well, that's the exact spot where I have the little hook tabs. just can't see how the bag will fit though with the brackets. wonder if perhaps I have some kind of updated booster or something. hey, thanks again. regards, Paul
well my car seems to have the brake booster upgrade which apparently was some kind of factory recall back then. question is then where did they relocate the bag to when they added the brake booster? Knowing how inconsistant Alfa was with respect parts/assembly what would be considered a "correct" location to mount the bag.

You must have missed it in my posting. On the 1750 it mounts on the passenger side firewall. You can just move the clips over there.
I have a '67 German delivery Duetto as well. The clips are on the passenger side firewall
peter,
do you know when in '67 it was built? mine was built in May and delivered to Frankfurt in July. I'm assuming you have the brake booster on yours. any signs of the clips being on the drivers side wheelwell at one time? In the alfa spider guide to restoration the featured duetto has it mounted behind the battery...but that was a RHD car.
Mine was built on July 14th 1967 and delivered to Frankfurt :)D) on July 31st
It has the (single) brake booster. I just went out to look, and I did see some potential signs of the clips having been behind where the brake booster now is.....I was going to say no, as I had never noticed, good that I checked!

I also read something about the brake upgrade...I actually located an original German language manual, and it came with the insert around that upgrade if I remember correctly....or at least it was an addendum with corrected text for the upgraded brakes. I need to look at it.

Can you please scan that and post if here? I've not ever seen one. Oh, are you talking about this manual? The book doesn't mention a booster for the spider.

thanks Peter, mine was shipped to frankfurt on July 7th 1967. what color was/is yours? mine was originally delivered white with black skai. so I guess I am just going to move the clips or find some new clips and tack them on to the passenger side I think the clips are still available or at least were used on later cars and could be hacked off and welded to mine.

yeah, that's the one, but then in German:D....I just checked it out and indeed no mention of the booster, I guess this was for the switch from Dunlop to Ate?

mine was/is AR514 red/black skai. good luck!
peter, sorry to bug you again...not often you come across another german delivery car :) just curious, what language are you gauges? english or italian? mine are english with euro tach (dyno)
Our Frankfurt delivered 1969 1750 GTV came with Italian worded gauges.
when I got my car, I got it from California. It had been in Texas before that. All gauges were in Italian, it's just that the speedometer had been replaced by one in mph...and maybe one of the other small gauges had been replaced by an English one, not sure anymore....It's all converted back to Italian and KM/h now
I also have Solex carbs...not that I am overly happy with them, but I understand this is a Euro only trait
