Scams

Hey guys
Yes I have been recently emailed by Jim3 replying to my want ad about looking for a set of stainless bumpers on a 71-74 Spider. He doesn't have any posts and joined this month. You know I almost fell for it to replying back to him what he wanted as far as price. He emailed me this morning saying he has a set with the grill in excellent condition for 400 including shipping. Wow, i would love to find a deal like that. Lol. Last month it was Ian Sparrow from UK trying to scam people on here, myself included. I have to say that this is really disheartening that you can't trust anyone practically.

Jim needs a doctor

Jim Ramirez Garcia contacted me via alfabb selling just the Alfa parts i want and at very cheap price. Good old jim helping a fellow Alfa man out. I told jim he stick his parts up his a..e. So if anyone is looking for a 101 hood and rear lights i know where you can find them.
How do I go about telling someone about the latest scammer wanting money sent by money gram?
[email protected]
Maybe you could send him a message telling him what you think?

"We're currently selling just the seats at the moment as you
can see from the photos. Anyways, I will be happy to ship the seats
within the UK if you prefer as it will cost a grand total of £450 GBP
including delivery. However, my PayPal is currently passed limits and
won't be able to take payment with it though, I will be able to
instruct you on effecting payment via Money Gram as my Wife works with
a nearby agent and she can be very handy since am always tied up with
packing of sold parts and dismantling in the ware-house.

Please let me know if we have a deal and a complete delivery address
to enable the courier expedite delivery and I will e-mail details for
payment via Money Gram as I will be making arrangement to take off the
seats ready for delivery. "

Exact the same popped up a couple of days ago in Pelican Parts "sale & wanted" section (Porsche 356). The warning is on there by me.

The scammer is back

All should know that he is back, now as David Earle.
He has 3 things: a 1967 Alfa Super, lower grille heart and the combo of a broken camera (can' t upload pictures) and a non-functioning PayPal account. And all this bad luck befell him on the first day he joined the BB and with his first post. Imagine that.

It starts with a PM response to a parts request:

Hi Dan,
Yes, I still have the grille for sale in excellent shape and condition. Asking $150 shipped. I will be shipping via UPS or FedEx whichever you prefer and shall accept payment via Money Gram as my PayPal is dormant. What's your shipping address?
thanks,
David.

ME:
Please send or post pictures of the grille and its various parts.

Thanks,

Dan

It's a scam. once again, no history, just joined, they want your email address and phone number.
Ignore it, they're prolific, and won't stop.
There's a similar scam going on in the UK Ebay scene at the moment.
The culprits hack someone's account, (don't ask me how), then copy listings from other people, always list them as a Classified ad, at a bargain price, and add onto the real seller's listing :-
" Don't use the Ebay message system as I'm very busy, and I don't get to the computer very often, email me on "I'm a slimy tw*t.com", and leave your phone number".
One guy does up to 30 every evening, mainly cars, motorbikes, tractors, mobile caravans, plant & equipment etc, every single day.
When I see them, I report a few, and Ebay take them all off, but this has been going on for about a year, and they don't stop, and Ebay can seemingly do nothing about it.
The lowest of the low.

Somebody just PM'd me with the user-name "automatic". Just joined, no posts, nothing. Wanted me to email to a UK address. Smelled a rat instantly. And I reported it.
