I am about to pick up scarely a 12valve and a 24valve 3ltr alfa v6's both out of 164's. Likely i will use the 24 valve in my 75 and i'm curious as to why some of you guys use what looks like the 164 engine mounts and keep the engine tilted like it is in the 164. Is that purely so the sump and oil pump don't have to be changed over to the 75 ones or is there other reasons. The main reason i am asking is also i have coming with one of the engines an all alloy special sump apparently used for racing here. Very few of them about apparently and it seems a shame not to use it. Also to cannibalise a perfectly good bar highish km 2.5ltr for a few parts.

hmm I have never seen that my self. the 164 intake used yes.
but I do not see how 164 mounts could be made to work at all.
I have mine mounted like this no tilt

a new bellhousing was cast for the v6 spider...

In the v6spider topic adelspyder tells why he did tilt the engine.

never seen atilted one in a transaxle however.. kind of hard to do when you have to use the transaxle rubbers and mounts i guess.

oilpan from a 164 won't fit a transaxle anyway so you don't have to worry about that. Just fit a gtv6/75 v6 sump, oilpump and enginemounts and you're half way there...
