I am cleaning out and cleaning up my garage. In doing so I am consolidating parts into boxes with labels so things can be found easier. In one box I have 24 used cam tappets that have various stages of wear on the cam bearing surface, mostly spider webbing.

My question is...is there a place that resurfaces the cam bearing face and harden it to new...or just toss them into the trash can for recycling?

Richard is correct on this (as usual). Used ones can be surface ground flat, re hardened, and then coated with a brilliant and slippery coating ... all for about three times the cost of new ones.
With NEW cams, ALWAYS use new followers.

thank you...into the recycle bin they go. I wouldn't use cam followers if they have defects on the face as that will wear out a cam lobe in a heart beat.
