US license plate bracket

I'm looking for suggestions on how to mount a US license plate on a Giulia that has the original Italian plate frame:

Vehicle Automotive exterior Bumper Car Vehicle registration plate

Is there any hope of at least re-using the existing holes to mount the bracket?

Would anyone happen to have a picture of the US brackets handy by any chance?

Thanks,
Vangelis

Thanks for the picture, Frank! It looks like the holes on the US cars are spaced differently to accommodate the wider / shorter plates.

After a bit more search, I found a bunch of brackets like this one:
Amazon.com: Mounting Kit - 6" x 12" License Plate Mounting Kit: Automotive

which may do the trick.
Get a euro plate, or a repro as I have.

Attatch 2 long strips of rubber or wide shrink tubing to your US plate letting the extra 10" of strip hang out above the plate.

Open trunk and lay strips over boot edge and close the boot lid.

US plate will hang in front of euro plate and not damage anything because it has rubber behind it.

When I get to a show or event, I just open trunk and stow the US plate inside.

I had a similar issue and initially took a hanging approach as 101/105guy describes. This entailed a plate holder with a canvas strap that went around the trunk latch and laid over the Euro plate. Nice to be able to remove it for shows but it was a two handed operation to open and close the trunk, which got old quickly. So I drilled two new holes in my MN plate to line up with the top holes of the Euro bracket and called it a day.

License Plate Frame

Here's my solution. Two vertical aluminum strips, with two horizontal strips to which the CA plate is attached.

These guys make decent looking reproductions. They're not cheap though:

These are all great suggestions, thanks!

They made the plates on my green car. Excellent quality !
Very nice historical targhe, but I was wondering if anyone has the chrome square frame. I have original EE front and rear but not the rear chrome being a US model.
I like trimming the North American license plate and fitting it in the Euro frame - see picture below.

On my other Euro Super I lost the frame and just redrill the holes on the plate and mount in the upper 2 holes with rubber bumpers on the back of the plate. Others prefer using the lower 2 holes ...
