The connector was completely disconnected?? Wow. The green wire originates at the Relay on the firewall (ign advance I think) and the other wires to coil and distributor. I would suspect someone has re-routed the wires in another circuit altogether, as I would think car would be dead. Here is a wiring diagram courtesy of Roadtrip that should give you a better idea of what is missing, or re-routed or just plain Mickey Moused. Good luck.
