Has anyone out there done a twinspark conversion using the modified distributor supplied by Jim Steck from the USA.Apparantly it is from a Nissan 720 pickup. I am trying to locate a cap and rotor for it here in the UK but getting nowhere.Jim has kindly offered to send one but if anyone knows where ican purchase one here in the UK it will be much appreciated

I have the part number if that would help it's at my shop .I may get over there this weekend I will get it for you when I do.

I get them at the local Nissan dealer. They're also readily available from on-line parts suppliers but the NOS ones look a bit better made (but I don't know that they're actually better).

I am having an absolute mare trying to purchase a cap and rotor
You said you had some part numbers for these
I have spoken to Nissan uk and they have got to the point where they are asking for chasis numbers of the truck it came off
No one in the u s is prepared to ship me one
Any help will be appreciated

It seems from this site that the following Nissan engines were twinsparks.

CA16-DE
CA18-DE
CA18-DET
CA20-S
CA20-E

Search eBay for Nissan 200sx


eBay item 260084023337 from the US should satisfy you (NOTE I know nothing about this seller).

In the UK it might be easier to get a cap for a 84-86 Nissan Silvia 200zx with the CA18ET or CA20E motor, the distributor is different but the caps and I presume the rotors are the same, various otehr Nissans came with these motors including vans, I picked up an old CA18 dist just to have alook for a twin spark conversion and while I don't really understand how it works it looks better than the 720 truck unit.

It seems the SOHC CA18 motor was fitted to the UK market bluebird, see

Sorry for not responding sooner but I've been at the track. I'll check my spare parts inventory and send you the numbers if they differ from those that have already been posted in this thread.

Distributor Cap = C603
Rotor = D660

Bosch cap for RHD 720 pickup (1.8 engine) 1 987 233 027
Bosch cap for LHD 720 pickup 1 987 233 008

Bosch rotor for RHD 1 987 234 014
Bosch rotor for LHD 1 987 234 023 (until supply is depleted)
